We'll start by looking at different load-outs and what amount of fortify and absorption will provide the most effective defense. We're going to look at the optimized amounts of armor you can get in light, medium, and heavy loadouts. We'll also assume that you have 10 points of damage absorption from gems.
We'll start by looking at the base mitigation from armor before any fortify is applied. In light armor, the mitigation is 27%, the medium is 40%, and the heavy is 48%. Next, we'll look at what happens when we apply 20 fortify and damage absorption from gems. In light armor, the mitigation goes up to 38%, the medium is 50%, and the heavy is 57%.
Next, we'll look at the effective health values for each loadout. Assuming everyone has 200 con, light armor has 25,000 effective health, the medium has 31,000, and heavy has 36,000.
We'll also look at what happens when we reach the old fortify cap of 50, and then take it even further to 100 and 200 fortify. Light armor has 64% mitigation at 50 fortify, 70% at 100, and 73% at 200.
We'll also look at the outlier situations such as having 50 fortify and 50 damage reduction from gems and damage reduction effects. In this case, all armor types get an additional 5% mitigation, leading to 5,000 more effective health in light and 12,000 in heavy.
Finally, we'll look at what happens when you utilize shirking fortification. At 20 fortify, light has 20,000 effective health, the medium has 26,000, and heavy has 30,000. However, if you use elemental aversion and all physical gems, you get 22,000 effective health in light, 27,000 in medium, and 31,000 in heavy.
