In Diablo 4, it's important to avoid falling into traps and make the most of your resources while leveling. Additionally, once you've beaten the main campaign, the game offers numerous avenues to obtain better loot, including sacred items and uniques. This guide will provide you with tips and strategies to optimize your gameplay experience. Let's jump right in!
Leveling Strategies:
During the early stages of the game, before reaching level 50 and completing the main campaign, don't worry too much about finding perfect gear drops. The rate at which you replace items is significant, so imprinting legendary aspects repeatedly can be a waste of resources. Instead, focus on keeping your gear for several levels, especially weapons you use frequently, as you'll find higher-damage alternatives along the way. Save aspects for less frequently replaced gear pieces, like crossbows, bows, rings, or armor. Leverage gear bonuses, such as two-handed weapon slots, amulets, and other slots that don't require frequent switching, to make efficient gear decisions.
Resource Management:
While leveling, you'll acquire all balls and opal caches through side missions and open-world events. These can be used at the gambling vendor to buy random gear with Diablo 4 Gold. Since the cap for these resources is usually reached quickly, save opal caches in your bank for later stages of the game when you'll have greater use for them. Consider buying special keys from the gacha vendor to use on higher-level loot rather than wasting them on low-level gear that will be quickly replaced.
Endgame Loot Farms:
Once you've completed the main campaign, there are various activities to farm for better loot. The Tree of Whispers is an excellent starting point. It offers consistent and efficient ways to obtain specific loot. The caches obtained from the Tree of Whispers provide targeted loot and have a good chance of containing legendaries. You can hunt for specific gear types that suit your build and choose the most optimal variants.
The Tree of Whispers also occasionally offers caches of chaos, which provide any gear from different slots. Consider these if the other options are not suitable or if you want to try your luck. Whenever possible, choose greater collections as one of the options, as they guarantee at least one legendary drop and often provide multiple legendaries.
To obtain the 10 Grams of Favors needed to complete one round of the Tree of Whispers, focus on running the major Whispers, such as dungeons, world bosses, and deceiving abominations. Each major Whisper completion grants five Gram Favors. Medium and small Whispers provide three and Gram Favor, respectively. If you encounter medium or small Whispers close to each other or near open-world events, consider completing them for efficiency.
Another endgame activity is the Fields of Hatred, PvP-PvE zones located in the Dry Steps. Despite the mention of PvP, you can farm peacefully without engaging in PvP by not activating the Mark of Blood. These zones spawn high-level demons that drop Seeds of Hatred upon defeat. Collecting enough seeds allows you to purify them at altars of extraction, converting them into red dust. Use the red dust to purchase gear, transmogs, and cosmetics from vendors. Be cautious, as other players can attack and steal your seeds during the purification process.
The HellTides event, although exciting, currently proves to be the least efficient for obtaining loot. The drop rate for Cinders, the event's resource, is relatively low. Tortured gifts or caches obtained from HellTides only drop one item each, with no guaranteed legendaries. Focus on other endgame activities that offer more efficient loot acquisition.
