Path of Exile has postponed its PoE 3.13 version of the expansion update to January, but the reason is not that the developer Grinding Gear Games failed to complete the production in time. The postponement is because of the delay of another game, Cyberpunk 2077, disrupted their plans until December 10th.
The developer stated in its forum: "Our previous goal was to release the 3.13 version extension on December 11." In any case, now Cyberpunk 2077 will be released at the same time. To avoid Cyberpunk 2077, the developers postponed the update of the Path of Exile until January.
"We still expect to complete the production of version 3.13 in early and mid-December." The forum post shows: "The scale of this expansion will not change. In the month before the release, we will start the development of the 3.14 expansion. "
This means that if Cyberpunk 2077 bounces again. To be honest, likely, Path of Exile will also be delayed again. The game team’s main concern is that players “have to choose between the two games.”
Path of Exile's sequel POE2 is currently in production. The beta version may be released as early as 2021.
