Diablo 4 Open Beta: Permanent Cosmetic Rewards, Armor, Strongholds and More

If you're looking forward to Diablo 4, you'll be happy to know that the developers held a live stream on February 28th where they went over a lot of new information about the upcoming Open Beta. This includes permanent cosmetic rewards, new information on armor and armor rating, details on strongholds, and more.

The Open Beta will consist of two weekends. The first weekend, from March 17th to 20th, is for players who have pre-ordered the game, while the second weekend, from March 24th to 27th, is open to everyone for free. During the first weekend, players will be able to choose between the Barbarian, Rogue, and Sorcerer classes, while during the second weekend, all five classes will be available. The Open Beta also allows players to reach level 25 and play through the first act of the game and the first region, Fractured Peaks. Additionally, there will be a world boss available at level 25 at set times and players will have the chance to receive three permanent rewards by reaching certain milestones.

The developers also went into detail about the armor stat, which will give players damage reduction versus physical attacks. They explained how the stat will scale with a player's level and how much damage reduction percentage players will get per armor point. Strongholds were also discussed, which are areas of the map that players can clear out for NPCs and vendors, as well as a shared area for other players.

The developers also addressed the topic of Runes and Rune Words from Diablo 2, which will not be included in the game at launch but may be added in a future season or expansion. Finally, they announced that a future developer live stream would focus on endgame itemization and endgame progression systems.

Overall, the live stream gave players a lot of exciting information about the upcoming Open Beta and upcoming content for Diablo 4. If you're looking forward to the game, make sure to check out the official website for more information, and keep an eye out for the next live stream!
