Path of Exile players was in for a treat today when Granny Games announced their plans for the future of the Sanctum mechanic. This mechanic has been a favorite of some players, while others have disliked it for a long time. It's clear that GGG wants to keep both groups happy.
The Sanctum mechanic won't be included in the upcoming 3.21 update, but GGG does have plans to bring it back in the future. To make this happen, the mechanic needs to be re-balanced for more newbie-friendliness, and more content needs to be integrated. GGG also plans to make Divinia the sixth master, which would allow Path of Exile players to access the Lycia fight and Lycia Uniques.
When the current league ends in April, all existing relics and invocations will be deleted, so Path of Exile players have until early April to complete any Sanctum challenges they may have. GGG also clarified that unique items from Lycea and the Sanctum won't be available in 3.21, which has affected the prices of the Poe Currency and items in the Sanctum Trade-enabled league.
Finally, GGG issued a clarification regarding the upcoming March events. Skills that specifically affect nearby allies, such as auras, won't work in the Friendly Fire event. The only exceptions are keystones, such as Conduit, which don't call out allies but instead call out party members.
Path of Exile players has a lot to look forward to with the upcoming changes to the Sanctum mechanic. With the current league ending soon, players should take the time to complete any Sanctum Challenges they have before it's too late.
