One of the most underrated clusters on the Atlas passive tree in Path of Exile is the Trial of Glory. While it may not be suitable for players running a high juice mapping strategy with gilded or better scarabs on every map, for those who are not in that situation, it can provide a significant boost.
The Trial of Glory offers an intriguing mechanic when running tier 6 or higher maps. You'll have approximately an eight percent chance to encounter a labyrinth trial within these maps. By default, these trials award what some might call "stupid offerings to the goddess" - items that are essentially worthless and not worth adding to your maps. However, there's also a 20 percent chance for these trials to upgrade to an improved offering, and you can discern this before entering the trial.
When you approach a trial with an improved offering, you'll notice a distinct visual difference outside the map. The portal will have a cool orange effect, indicating that it's an Uber Dooba labyrinth trial rather than a regular Uber trial. This is where the Trial of Glory cluster on your Atlas passive tree comes into play.
By allocating this cluster, you can skip the regular offering to the goddess trials as you would normally. However, when you encounter one of the Uber trials, it's highly recommended to complete it. This is because there's a one in three chance of obtaining a "gift to the goddess," which holds significant value, such as 1.7 divine orbs at the time of recording this video. Even if you don't get the top-tier reward, you still have the fallback of receiving a "dedication for the goddess" worth around 50 chaos orbs. Even the "tribute to the goddess," considered the lowest prize, holds value at around 10 chaos orbs.
Additionally, there's a challenging task tied to the enriched uber labyrinths in this league. It's advisable to keep an eye on this challenge as its difficulty may lead to increased demand for the weaker tokens later in the league. Even if you're not pursuing the challenge, running the tributes to the goddess is worthwhile due to the silver K chests within them, which serve as the best source for obtaining foreground Spectrum Jewels that can be quite valuable.
To summarize, if you're running expensive scarabs such as gilded or winged scarabs, it's best to avoid the Trial of Glory cluster. However, if you're not using those costly scarabs, consider allocating this cluster as it can provide a decent boost. On average, about one in every 28 maps you run will contain an enriched labyrinth trial. What's particularly appealing about this strategy is that it doesn't waste your time when it doesn't work. If you enter a map without a labyrinth trial or encounter a regular offering trial, you can swiftly pass it without disrupting your mapping progress. However, when you do come across an enriched labyrinth trial, the rewards can be well worth your time and effort.
