In WoW Classic's Season of Discovery, my third Rogue solo farmed all dungeon bosses for my pre-raid best in slot (BIS) gear. Guess what? I did it at level 24! It is possible so stay with me as I take you through some of the ways in which I personally fought the likes of Baron Silverlane in Shadow Fang Keep, Lord Cobran in Wailing Caverns and Edwin VanCleef from the Deadmines. No more warriors, and especially hunters, will take your Cruel Barb ever again!
Gear and Talent Setup
For my soloing escapades, I had easily obtainable gear such as Dark Leather Shoulders and Monkey-themed items. My Skeletal Club was my preferred weapon coupled with a Frost Dagger of the Monkey. The only instance loot was Leggings of the Fang. My choice of talents revolved around damage maximization and evasion that is crucial for soloing.
Soloing Strategy: Deadmines & Edwin VanCleef
The idea of trying to navigate Deadmines solo involves getting past mobs and locked doors using levers and lockpicking respectively. Stealth and timing are key. Meanwhile for Edwin VanCleef, you must carefully choose where to stand and make use of available abilities like Crippling Poison as well as Elixirs to tip the balance in your favor. Defeating Captain Greenskin first simplifies the final showdown with VanCleef.
The Baron Silverlane Challenge: Shadow Fang Keep
The goal in Shadow Fang Keep is to get to and defeat Baron Silverlane. Stealth allows you to avoid unnecessary fights while being effective in controlling mobs through distraction techniques. Once you're there, it's pretty much an easy fight against Silverlane but be ready to dispose off any adds fast.
Confronting Lord Cobran: Wailing Caverns
As a solo Rogue, Lord Cobran within Wailing Caverns is one of the easiest bosses. Just be patient, and wait for the right moment to attack Cobran without attracting any additional aggro. Use your abilities wisely, and you'll find this fight surprisingly manageable.
Tips for Success
Use vanish and distractions to manage mob aggro.
Keep healing potions and anti-venoms handy for emergencies.
Practice key jumps and positioning in advance.
Be patient and wait for the right moment to engage bosses.
Reset the dungeon efficiently if needed for multiple attempts.
Conclusion
In WoW Classic's Season of Discovery, solo farming your PreRaid BIS gear as a Rogue is fun and fulfilling. Get yourself the correct gear, use appropriate strategies and talent setup then it will be possible to kill certain important dungeons' bosses alone at level 24. Note that patience with practice is key in doing it properly.
